With the exception of LinkedIn Ad Analytics, LinkedIn doesn’t really offer up a lot of deeply scientific ways to measure your success. They are getting a bit better (with rankings and update views) but of all the social sites, LinkedIn is probably the hardest to measure and track the ROI of your time and efforts.
That being said, measuring the progress you are able to track on LinkedIn will help you stay on track and reach your goals.
There are two types of metrics you can measure on LinkedIn: Quantitative Measurements and Qualitative Measurements. Quantitative Measurements are usually associated with numbers and Qualitative with the quality of your engagement. Both are crucial to your success on LinkedIn.
So what are the 15 most important metrics for you to measure on LinkedIn?
QUANTITATIVE:
- Total Connections
- New Invitations
- LinkedIn Profile Views
- Industry, Company and Location Representation in Who’s Viewed
- Ranking
- Endorsements
- Personal Update Views
- Post Views
- Company Page Followers
- Company Page Update Views and Analytics
QUALITATIVE
- Inbox Activity and Sentiment
- Requests for Business
- Likes and Comments on Updates
- Group Growth and Interaction
- Recommendations
